Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to present the major trends in evolution of logos
among Interbrand’s top 100 global brands.
Methodology: Content Analysis was used as major analysis tool in this study. It is
commonly used technique in corporate branding. Logos were collected from official website
of the brands.
Findings: Three major trends observed; Firstly, logos were made of simple and clear
typography with strong color combination like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Coca-Cola,
Volkswagen, and Fiat. Secondly, logo's distinct shape strongly works on its own without
using its brand name like Audi, Mercedes, Apple, and Nike. Thirdly, combination of text and
image used to represent the brands like Toyota, BMW.
